I grew up very much with arthouse movies. Bergman was one film director that beat my senses to a pulp. But made me look at life the way people tried to ignore.
Some of my paintings are in the Frames series. Like theatre or film, 3 acts.
While typical acts start with a setup/character introduction, I start here with the image of a conflict: one man betrayed the trust of the other.
Then, I skip act 2 (the confrontation) and have a double resolution: both characters are affected by what one of them did.
3 square frames of 25x25cm, oil painted. I give the size and aspect ratio of a work a great importance. But not everything has to be put into words, explained. Otherwise it could be a written novel.
