Party with Me, Myself and I
The threefold identity of the human being interests me: 1) who we are, 2) who we think we are, and 3) who others think we are. Bringing them close together is an art. Until then, observing them from a distance, can be instructive.
Oil painting on linen canvas, 30x44cm. The canvas is not stretched, it can be framed like you’d frame a photograph. It’s a different esthetic, one that I appreciate more than stretched canvases on wooden frames that need another frame on top.
As for the size: all last year I painted on canvas witch was 30 wide on 44 to 65 long/tall. It’s a format that gives me a better connection with the work, intimate yet sufficiently large to be observed, when hanging on a wall.
Large work pieces (done that is the past) are suitable for a different type of home, serve a different purpose. I don’t think I will return to larger canvases, not for the time being.
